Okay so I haven't posted a journal in like... fucking forever. I know. Not like anyone really reads these things aside from people whose houses I go to on a semi-regular basis.

So onto the matter at-hand. It's been a rather productive school semester as far as my art classes go and let's just say I have a royal ton of art. Problem is that it isn't the happy, cutesy, bloody anime/game stuff that I generally upload. It's the icky super-realistic "artsy" stuff. Right now I'm wondering if I should just upload everything to this account or just create a separate one for my "professional/scholastic" work.

Well, I'm free! FREE AT LAST (forthemostpart)! I still have some obligations to fulfill... but my lack of a working keyboard is making that a bit difficult. My PC has this thing where, if Windows Update... well... updates, then restarts my comp the keyboard will no longer work in whatever USB port it was plugged into, thus, I he to find another port and after an hour of struggling, it might work in another. Well, I've run out of ports. This makes doing anything on my PC (where all the good programs are) a pain in the ass. I currently have to work off of my laptop.

I also thought of pretty-ifying my Journal with all that fancy CSS stuff, but I might just be too lazy.

I also have lots of happy art I want to work on... so.. yah will update again soon. Still alive of course. I also forgot whatever else it was I was going to mention, but ah well.

Scanner Help!

Okay, everyone. I'm looking for suggestions for a new scanner. As much as I love mine, it's old, it doesn't know what DPI is, and all it can currently scan proficiently is text, and even then I can only use this one, horridly outdated program to run it, which crashes when I try and save or export almost anything I scan... so it's time for a new one, and this one can get hooked up to the old comp, Garm, downstairs.

Thing is, I'm not too up-to-date on scanner technology and browsing at local store is USELESS, as all most stores have is All-In-Ones. I do not need a printer. I do not need a fax machine. All I want is a scanner! ;__;

Problem is, most scanner, I realize, hate most art mediums such as colored pencils. I need a scanner that is good at picking up all the fine details in a picture and NOT eating them.

I'm hoping to not have to spend too much, but ANY suggestions are good. My current PC runs Windows XP, if that helps. Suggested brand names, and possibly specific models would help greatly.

Commissions?

I was thinking... I'd like to be a better artist... Problem is, I can't post a lot of my hand-drawn art because my computer equipment (aka, scanner) is a bit old. I still love the thing, but it only scans TEXT really well. It's so old, it doesn't even know what DPI is. All it has is "color", "B/W", and "Text". I'd like to put this one with the computer downstairs and then get a really nice one (that doesn't rape colored pencil) for this computer.

That and I'd also like to upgrade my RAM to 1 gig (all my comp can manage, sadly) and maybe a bigger HD, since this one is going to die relatively soon. The problem with this? Well, I don't have any money for it. Almost all the money from my actual job is eaten by college (and I'm forbidden to touch it).

So, I figured I might start taking commissions. Not sure on the prices yet or the criteria (the stuff I can/can/will/will not draw), but I figure it might be a decent idea. I'll have to ask around for pricing ideas, since my art isn't particularly great compared to other people that can be commissioned, but hey, it's an idea.

Oh... and reason as to why I'm drinking my own blood... yeah, sent me a bag of dumdums for Christmas I've been picking through at night... and I accidentally slashed my tongue open on a pink lemonade one. It hurts.
